Service Description

Before Birth is a mindful wellbeing course for expectant mums / birthing persons. Designed to support you emotionally as you journey through pregnancy towards your baby's birth and to ease the transition into motherhood Each session has a different wellbeing theme (including nurture, connections and transformation), with sessions using a combination of mindfulness, relaxation, journaling and other therapeutic techniques over 6 weeks. Attending the Before Birth Mindful Wellbeing Group ensures that you take time to slow down and tune inwards. You will be guided into a state of deep relaxation where you will connect with your baby, explore your emotions and boost hormones essential for pregnancy and birth. Sessions include: Introductions & reflections Journaling Group discussion (including topics relating to emotional wellbeing, pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period) Mindfulness Guided relaxations Breathwork Affirmations Gratitude practice Engaging in mindful and wellbeing practices antenatally has ongoing benefits from pregnancy into the postpartum period for both mum and baby. By attending Before Birth sessions on a weekly basis you will find that you are more able to block out any external noise and able to listen to your inner voice. You will also connect with other mums and start to create your parenting tribe, with this having so much importance as you journey through motherhood together. What to expect: Sessions will be held at The Wabi Sabi Studio in the heart of Hexham on Friday evenings from 28th October, 18:45-20:15. You will be welcomed by twinkling lights, soft music and the relaxing aromatherapy blends. There will be herbal teas, delicious soft drinks and sweet treats available. You will also receive a journal to use during the sessions. You will leave each session feeling nourished and nurtured. Sessions are led by Katy Williams of Birthscapes, a trained Occupational Therapist, mum to one, former hypnobirthing and caesarean mum, now turned perinatal practitioner focusing on birth and maternal wellbeing. Services include hypnobirthing and birth preparation, Mindful Wellbeing Groups, 3 Step Rewind Trauma & Phobia Release, motherhood retreats and more.
