About the Event

You are invited to attend a pregnancy relaxation session on Friday 30th July at 6:00pm BST, led by Katy Williams, Founder of Birthscapes. Katy is a trained Occupational Therapist, Hypnobirthing & Antenatal Teacher, Before & Beyond Birth Mindful Wellbeing Practitioner, 3 Step Rewind Birth Trauma specialist, Laughter Yoga Leader and Attached at the Heart Positive Discipline & Attachment Parenting Educator. 

Katy is passionate about supporting her clients to have a heart-led parenting journey, with a focus on parental wellbeing and the importance of oxytocin in relation to this, from conception onwards. 

Birthscapes Pregnancy Relaxation session will allow expectant mothers the time they need to recharge, re-energise, relax and connect with their baby. A big focus is on nurturing yourself as you would nurture your baby. 

Our baby's are part of us, and as our hormones transfer to baby in utero they have lifelong implications regarding development and attachment. 

The recipe for an empowered birth, postpartum and parenting experience really does come down to protecting your oxytocin and reducing your stress levels and this is a learned process. The more often we engage in relaxation, we will find that this becomes natural to us, that we have created a more positive mind-set and that we are in our adrenaline-fuelled state far less. 

So... relaxation is key! 

The session will include:

  • An introduction to why relaxation is so important for mum & baby
  • Information regarding the role of oxytocin & its importance during pregnancy, for birth and postpartum
  • A wellbeing topic & journaling session
  • A mini laughter yoga boost for joy, energy & to increase happy hormones (endorphins & oxytocin)
  • Guided hypnobirthing relaxation to help foster a sense of calm and inner peace, and connect with baby
  • Grounding exercise

The session is donations based, with suggested donations between £5-10 based upon what you can afford.
