About the Event
This Pregnancy Relaxation event has been specially created for mums / birthing-parents to be.
It has been shown that engaging in relaxation is good not only for mum, but for baby in utero.
By regularly engaging in relaxation during pregnancy, we lower our stress hormones and increase our positive "happy" hormones, which benefit our mind and body, as well as having a positive impact on our birth and baby's long-term development.
We will also explore the benefits of laughter during pregnancy, for birth and postpartum!
We start with a chat where you will have the opportunity to share how you are feeling and any news, or just where we talk about any pregnancy or birth-related questions that you may have.
We then move onto discussing a particular wellbeing topic (what it means to nurture yourself) and complete a journaling exercise around this.
You be introduced to laughter yoga and will receive a mini laughter-yoga boost for wellbeing and positive mind-set.
It has been scientifically shown that laughter increases the hormones that we need for a positive birth and postpartum experience. Laughter yoga allows us to quickly shake off any stresses and strains that are affecting us, to recharge and re-energise, as well as creating a positive mind-set.
We will complete a birth-art exercises where we consider any positive and negative feelings that you may hold in relation to your baby's upcoming birth.
Finally, you will be guided through a hypnobirthing meditation where you will be able to relax and connect deeply with your baby.
It does not matter what type of birth you are planning or where you are planning to birth your baby. If you are expecting a baby, then you are welcome to attend.
