About the Event
Beyond Birth is a 6-week program for all parents / carers of infants (0-12 months), supporting you with your mental health and emotional wellbeing, as well as providing you weekly opportunity for a bit of TLC.
Each weekly session is designed to ease the transition into parenthood. Think of it as hand-holding across a wobbly bridge into an unknown place, and could do with reassurance and help finding your feet.
You will learn skills to calm, soothe, and tune inwards. You will be guided to explore your identity as a parent (be it first or subsequent babies), and to connect with yourself, your baby and your loved ones.
Beyond Birth provides time for you so that you are able to nurture yourself as you would your baby.
The session will include:
- Introduction to Birthscapes
- What is Beyond Birth & why is it needed?
- Perinatal mental health
- Covid-19 & the pandemic
- Fight, flight, freeze response
- Dads matter too
- The first 1001 days
- Bonding with baby
- Beyond Birth programme
- Journaling exercise
- Mindful relaxation
