Laughter yoga works on the basis that the body cannot tell the difference between real or "fake" laughter, and so it provides real physiological benefits.
Laughter yoga has been scientifically proven to boost oxytocin (this is the key hormone for birth), reduces stress hormones, facilitate bonding with baby in utero and following birth, supports with positive connection to our loved ones, and may support with breastfeeding and reduce risk of perinatal mental health issues. Studies have shown that there may even be a positive link between laughter and fertility.
