
Mindful Early Parenting Course
I am proud to be delivering the wonderful Beyond Birth Mindful Early Parenting Course for Tiny Lives families (for all parents / caregivers and infants from 0 - 12 months, or until infants are actively mobilising) from Friday 15th September for six consecutive weeks.
Sessions run from 10:30-12:30 at Kingston Park Community Centre.
Note: The group session lasts around 75 minutes, with the option to stay, play, have a cuppa and biscuit and connect with other parents afterwards.

The groups are led by Katy Williams of Birthscapes. Katy is a mum to one, trained Occupational Therapist and Perinatal Wellbeing Practitioner (see About Me for further information).
​
Beyond Birth is the award winning Mindful Early Parenting course created by Sophie Burch, aka The Mamma Coach. Designed to be the weekly tonic that you need to keep your life in balance, with each session easing the transition into parenthood.
​
Sessions are designed to be Gentle, Calm and Nurturing for you and your baby.
​
Whether your first baby or next, Beyond Birth will guide you to explore your identity as a parent, and to connect with yourself, your baby and your loved ones, ensuring that you take time to nurture yourself as well as your baby. You will feel empowered to trust in your instincts and to reach out for help when needed.
​
Beyond Birth teaches you skills to help calm and self-regulate, soothe and tune inwards. These skills will help you to slow down and connect with yourself, your baby and loved ones - helping to ease the emotional intensity of early parenting. You will then feel more able to enjoy and bank those first precious months, instead of finding that they go by like a blur.
​
By attending these sessions you will feel better equipped to deal with the emotional stresses and strains that we often experience when traversing the early stages of parenthood, further impacted by unexpected and difficult circumstances and events.
​
So often we forget about our own needs as parents and can feel a loss of identity, particularly during the early stages of parenthood. Beyond Birth is unique however as it focuses on your wellbeing, with this not only benefitting you, but your infant too. We are unable to keep pouring from an empty cup and so learning how to tend to your own needs whilst with your baby is so very essential.

Beyond Birth is the group where everyone will know your name rather than you just being known as mum or dad, where you will always been asked how you are really doing, and where you can feel free to openly share in a safe and welcoming space.
​
Sessions use a combination of mindfulness, relaxation, wellbeing journaling and other therapeutic techniques over 6 weeks.
